      Gene targeting strategy for B-hEMP2 mice. The exons 2-5 of mouse Emp2 gene that encodes the full-length protein was replaced by human EMP2 exons 2-5 in B-hEMP2 mice.

      mRNA expression analysis
      Strain specific analysis of EMP2 gene expression in wild-type C57BL/6 mice and B-hEMP2 mice by RT-PCR. Mouse Emp2 mRNA was detectable only in the lung of wild-type C57BL/6 mice (+/+). Human EMP2 mRNA was detectable only in homozygous B-hEMP2 mice (H/H), but not in wild-type mice.
