    Alzheimer's Disease Therapeutics: From Conventional Approaches to a New Paradigm of Blood–Brain Barrier Penetration via TFR1-Mediated Bispecific Antibody Delivery

    Description: 

    Alzheimer’s drug development is heavily hindered by the blood–brain barrier (BBB) and safety risks like ARIA. To solve this, targeting transferrin receptor 1 (TfR1) has emerged as a key strategy for brain delivery. To streamline preclinical testing, Biocytogen developed the Tg(5×FAD)/hTfR1 dual-humanized mouse model, merging humanized TfR1 with an established AD background. This unified platform enables simultaneous evaluation of BBB penetration, efficacy (Aβ plaque reduction and memory improvement), and safety in a single model—accelerating the translation of next-generation CNS therapeutics.

    Dr. Chunhui He received his PhD from Tongji University. Dr. He has extensive experience in the development of preclinical models and in vivo pharmacology studies for central nervous system (CNS) therapeutics, particularly those targeting neurodegenerative diseases and pain, as well as autoimmune diseases.

    His research has been published as first or co-first author in leading peer-reviewed journals, including Science Advances, Cell Death & Disease, and Cerebral Cortex.

    Since joining Biocytogen in March 2025, Dr. He has been responsible for establishing the company's neuropharmacology platform, overseeing project execution and management, and leading team development and talent cultivation.
